so i have finished my finals, stopped working at enterprise, and began packing up my stuff, getting reading to end this chapter of my life. i am graduating from college. this wednesday april 30th. if you would like to come visit, the ceremony is at 10 am at lighthouse baptist church in la verne, then on may 1st i will be starting my new job. i will be helping out down at bethel, learning classroom management, and that kind of stuff that teachers need to know. i am looking forward to being down there full time working for the church and school. in my free time i will be looking for apartments, i hope to have one by the middle of may. this will give me some time to get things settled and ready for the wife. the wedding planning from what renae tells me is going good. she needs to check a few florist for quotes on her bouquet and she also needs to pick up some ribbon. other than that, this is it, i’m done with college. thank you to all my teachers, you made college worth it. pastor kirkland, pastor dorsey, pastor dunlop, pastor davidson, pastor wilkerson, pastor watkins, dr. cantrell, and the rest — thanks. well i hope to see many of you soon. if not at graduation then at the wedding. please keep renae and i in you prayers, thank you.

friday april 11, 2008

well yesterday renae, tim (renae’s brother), and i drove down to san diego to watch spencer graduate from the marine corps boot camp.  it was really exciting and we enjoyed it thoroughly.  spencer is doing really well he lost some weight and trimmed down a lot.  the graduation was cool, i had never been to military graduation before.  one of the marines in spencer’s platoon fainted while they were standing there, they took him to the back of the parade grounds for a few minutes to sit and then he came back.

after the graduation, we (tim, eli, daniel, luis, renae, i, and eventually rebecca) decided to go get some lunch at jack in the box.  we followed eli on a wild goose hunt till we finally found a jack in probably the worst part of san diego.  after we ordered, we sat down and there was an employee of jack who like would not let us get out of our seats, renae went to grab a straw and he took the straw and started unwrapping it for her. then tim got up to get some sauce then the jack-man came told tim to sit and he would get it for him.  he moved my napkins from the edge of the table because he was afraid they were going to fall off.  eli waited until the guy was in the back to get up and refill his soda. then we all got a big laugh when i told eli to watch out because jack-man would probably jump over the wall and tackle him. it was pretty awkward, when we left jack-man said, “don’t forget to come back.”

friday evening we went to the beach with klay (our college-age sunday school class at bethel. we played some football, had some hot dogs and s’mores. then sang some songs as luis played the guitar it was an enjoyably end to a good day.

here are some pictures of the day’s events

a new feel

unlinked media is going through a new feel, the articles are now excerpted, so to read the article in it’s entirety click on the name of the article and it will take you to the full article.  there is a lot less going on on the page, at least i think so.  i guess it’s just one of my moods where i want to change stuff around, keep things fresh, you know. well let me know what you think about.

not that this has anything to do with the new theme but the giants have won two games in a row and are winning today 2-0 in the top of the 5th, go giants!!
