satisfied with failure?

when was the last time you settled for something that was not best.  or even for something that was wrong.  you know you want to do what’s right but instead you are satisfied with failure.

in high school i play on several teams that were not very good,  few wins many losses.  we knew we weren't very good; and some games it seemed like we didn't care that we lost. we were satisfied with failure.

in our spiritual life we know what’s right to do, we know what we are supposed to do. so many times however we choose not to do what’s right.  we think that thought, says those words, go to the that place, whatever it is; we just don't care at the time, we become satisfied with failure.

what’s keeping you back?

are you settling for second best, or worse?

are you satisfied with failure?

God wants so much more than that for us.  that’s why he says greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.  let's stop relying on ourselves  and our own strength.  we need to trust in God's strength and power to overcome our faults and sins.

  1. so true.
we settle for what is easy and convenient.
    we cop out.
we are afraid of the work necessary.
we are afraid to depend completely on God.
    good post.

  2. Good post, too true of too many Christians and that’s sad!

  3. As your professor, let me advise you to go back and read what you wrote. Don’t be satisfied with failure in your writing :) Good thoughts, though. See, I just cannot help but grade papers all the time!

  4. thanks pastor kirkland,

there were like a dozen errors, i should really proofread my own writing.
